Privacy Policy

SumClarTech · Last updated 17 September 2026

This policy covers SumCalc, SiteCalc, ClearScan, StepMath and SnapTidy, published by SumClarTech. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to sumclartech@gmail.com.

Your work on your device

Our apps do not require a user account and do not use a SumClarTech server to store your calculations, documents, recognized text or screenshots. Calculations and supported equation solving run on your device. Each installed app keeps its own local records and preferences.

SumCalc, SiteCalc and StepMath save calculation or problem history and favorites in app storage. ClearScan stores imported or captured document copies, document names, recognized or edited text, and any receipt fields you choose to save. Display settings and unfinished work may also be retained locally.

SnapTidy accesses permitted media to display thumbnails, read file names and sizes, identify likely screenshots and calculate file hashes for exact-duplicate checks. These checks happen on your device. Photo access depends on the permissions and selections you grant through Android.

Image recognition and scanning

ClearScan and StepMath use Google ML Kit for image text recognition. Google states that ML Kit processes input images and text on the device and does not send those inputs or recognition results to its servers. Scanner components may be downloaded through Google Play services.

ML Kit can contact Google for component updates and send service metrics such as device and app information, installation identifiers, operation timing, image-format or input-size information, and error codes. These metrics support diagnostics, usage analysis and operation of the service; they are separate from the content of your document. See ML Kit privacy information and ML Kit data disclosures.

Advertisements and privacy choices

The apps are supported by Google advertising. When advertising is enabled and a request is permitted, Google's advertising SDK can process an IP address and approximate location inferred from it, device or advertising identifiers, interactions with the app and advertisements, and diagnostic information. Google uses this information for advertising, measurement, service analytics and fraud prevention. See Google's advertising data disclosures and Google's Privacy Policy.

Google's consent tools handle advertising privacy choices when required. An advertising-privacy control is available in Settings when the consent service requires it. You can also use Android's advertising-ID and app-permission controls. The utility features remain available when advertisements cannot load.

SumClarTech does not add a separate analytics account, cloud document service or user-content backend to these apps. Advertising and scanning components still process the service information described above. We do not send your calculations, document contents, recognized text or screenshot contents to an advertising request.

When you share or export

Copying, exporting or sharing is initiated by you. An export creates a file at the location you choose, and sharing gives the selected receiving app access to that content. A destination selected through Android may be a cloud storage provider. That provider or receiving app handles the shared copy under its own policies. The apps cannot remove copies after another app or person has received them.

Retention and deletion

Saved records remain in the relevant app's local storage until you remove them or clear that app's storage. Deleting a ClearScan saved document removes its saved record and attempts to remove its app-owned document copy; it does not delete the original image you imported. Working image copies and temporary exports can remain locally while you use the app. Android may clear cached files, and clearing the app's storage removes its private data.

SnapTidy deletes original media only after you select files and confirm deletion, including Android's system approval where required. Removing the app or clearing its private storage does not itself delete your original photos. Exported files and copies kept by other apps must be managed separately.

Google controls retention of the advertising, consent and scanning-service data it processes. Use the Google privacy information and your device settings to review available controls. We cannot directly erase data held by an independent provider through a local delete button.

Support messages

If you contact our support email, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and follow up on the issue. Avoid sending private documents unless they are necessary to explain a problem. Support messages may remain in our email service while needed to handle the request and related follow-up. Contact us to request deletion of messages you have supplied.

Security and control

Internal records and document copies use Android's app-private storage. Files shared with other apps receive the access needed for the sharing action. Google documents encrypted network transport for its advertising and ML Kit service data. The apps do not request your passwords or payment information.

You can review and revoke photo permissions in Android Settings, manage local saved records in the relevant app, and clear its storage through Android. These actions can remove saved work; keep any exports you need first.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when app features, service providers or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. To ask about this policy or request assistance with information provided to SumClarTech, email sumclartech@gmail.com and identify the app concerned.
